Exciting news in GI cancer care!
This summer, Dr. Petropolis will perform Eastern Canada’s first Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) - a minimally invasive procedure that removes early-stage cancers or precancerous lesions in one piece for complete analysis.
The Skills Centre provided the ideal setting to practice this procedure on an animal specimen.
This advanced technique reduces the need for further surgery and brings world-class care closer to home.

Dr. James Gould runs an Insitu in the Charles V Keating Emergency department. Services are alerted to a MVC trauma activation, and begin care of our simulated patient once they’ve arrived in the ED.
Simulation provides a chance to figure out where vital equipment should be, or where a certain role should stand, or which side of the bed to transfer from given the logistics.
